Memories!

Yesterday would have been my dear friend Trish's 82nd birthday. She was able to spend the weekend with us at our Stitching retreat at Brentwood on the Beach. She even went for a swim in the very cool waters of Lake Huron. We did not know she was not well. We lost her on the Tuesday after our weekend away. She so loved her weekend away every year, as our mentor we loved our time with her. Yesterday was a day of remembering all of our good times together. Memories of her making her wonderful tea biscuits and her home made jams. She was the lady who taught me to cross stitch, she taught me how to stretch and frame my cross stitch. She also taught me how to be a better person and to be more tolerant and she tried to make me understand that I have to have patience. I must admit I have trouble with that one. Thank you Trish for being with me as long as you were, especially the last 3 years when I struggled through my tough times. I don't know what I would have done without you. Her last stitching project was of a church in The Netherlands where her Grand - daughter Natasha was born. I finished it for you Trish and it is so beautiful. I will love you forever Trish and I will miss you forever. Thank you for all the gifts that you shared with us none will be forgotten! It is proof that gifts need not to be wrapped....they just need to be shared. You really blew us away when you recited your poem that you wrote about the war years in Britain that you wrote when you were a little girl in a convent school. Happy Birthday dear Trish! In the 1st photo Trish is on the right, with our friend Audrey on the left. 2nd photo is her project for her Grand daughter 3rd left over threads 4th Our group photo....Stitching Sisters at Brentwood on the Beach - cross stitching retreat every year in May ~Happiest when stitching~
